The Brilliance of the Month of Shabaan

It is narrated from Ibn Abbas that the companions of the Holy Prophet (saw) were discussing the brilliance of the month of shabaan. The Holy Prophet (saw) said, "This is a blessed month and my month. The people of Heavens consider it holy and honor it. The earnings of the believers are increased during this month for the month Ramadhan and the gardens of Paradise are decorated for them. It is called shabaan because of the earnings of believers are increased in it. The deeds performed in this month are counted multiples of seventy. Calamities end, sins are wiped off, good deeds are accepted and Allah becomes proud of His slaves in this month. He sees who fast and worship Him from Divine throne and expresses His Pride in front of the people of Heaven."

Imam Ali (a.s) stood up and asked, "O Messenger of Allah! May my parents be scarified for you, please narrate some excellence of fasting in the month of shabaan so that we are motivated to fast and perform Allah's worship and stay a wake during nights."

Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s) says, "My father used to take a day's gap between the fasts of the months of Shabaan and Ramadan. However Imam Zainul Abideen (a.s) used to fast for two months continuously and used to say, 'Fasting for these two months continuously is like repenting before Allah. These are the months of Allah and they compensate for the sins of the two months of past and present each."

Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s) says, "The Holy Prophet (a.s) used to fast in the months of Shaban and Ramadan continuously. However he used to stop people from doing so. These are the months of Allah and they compensate for the sins of previous and next months."

The Holy Prophet (saw) said, "One who fasts for one day in shabaan, Allah writes for him seventy rewards and each reward will be equal to that of worshipping Allah for a year. One who fasts for two days, He would save him from those sins, which destroy a person. One who fasts for three days, his position in Paradise would increase by seventy levels with pearls and rubies. One who fasts for four days in paradise his earnings would increase greatly. One who fasts for five days would be loved by the people. One who fasts for six days Allah would keep away seventy types of calamities from him. One who fasts for seven days, he would remain safe from the mischief and evil thoughts of Satan and his gangs. One who fasts for eight days won't go thirsty from this world and would be satisfied by a pure cistern. One who fasts for nine days, Munkir and Nakir would be lenient with him while questioning in the grave. One who fasts for ten days, his grave would expand by seventy spans. One who fasts for eleven days his grave would be lit up by eleven minarets of lights. One who fasts for twelve days, seventy thousand angels would visit his grave every day till the day of Judgment. One who fasts for thirteen days angels of all seven heavens would repent for him. One who fasts for fourteen days a;; the terrestrial and aquatic animals will be ordered to seek forgiveness for him. One who fasts for fifteen days, the Almighty Allah calls out, 'I assure you by My Honor that I won't burn you in the fire of hell.' One who fasts for sixteen days, seventy rivers of fire will be extinguished for him. One who fasts for seventeen days all the doors of the hell would be closed for him. One who fasts for eighteen days on Shabaan all the doors of paradise would be opened for him. One who fasts for nineteen days would be given seventy thousand palaces made of pearls and rubies in paradise. One who fasts for twenty days would be married to seventy thousand hoorul ein. One who fasts for twenty one days angels would congratulate him and keep moving their wings on his body. One who fasts for twenty two days would be made to wear seventy thousand dresses made of satin and brocade. One who fasts for twenty three days would be made to sit on a bright mount and roam throughout paradise. One who fasts for twenty four days would intercede for seventy thousand people who believed in the oneness of Allah. One who fasts for twenty five days hypocrisy would be kept away from him. One who fasts for twenty six days Allah would give him permit to pass through the sirat bridge. One who fasts for twenty seven days Allah orders to give him freedom from hell. One who fasts for twenty eight days his face would be illuminated and light would emanate from his face. One who fasts for twenty nine days Almighty Allah would please him. One who fasts for thirty days in shabaan Jibrael (a.s) would stand in front of Divine Throne and call out, 'O person! your deeds have a new beginning for your past sins have been forgiven.' Almighty Allah would say, 'I would forgive you even if the number of your sins is equal to the number of stars in the skies, or drops of rain, or leaves of tress, or grains of sand, or drops dew or number of days of the world. This reward and forgiveness for fasting in the month of shabaan is not much for Allah. ' "
Ibne Abbas says that this reward is for the month of shabaan only.

Shabaan

The holy month of Shabaan is called "Shaban" because the earnings of believers are increased in it.

-Saawabul Aamaal

Reward of a fast in the month of Shabaan

Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s) says, 'One who fast continuously from shaban to the month of ramdhan then by Allah, these fasts would be counted among repentance of Allah, the Might and Sublime.'

The narrator says that he heard Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s) say, 'one who fasts on first of shaban then surely, Paradise would be made obligatory for him. If he observes two fasts, the Almighty Allah would look at him with mercy in this world every day and night. He would also shower His mercy on him in Paradise. One who fasts for three days would get to visit Allah daily on the Divine throne in Paradise.'

It is narrated from Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s) that he said, 'By Allah, the fasts of shaban and Mahe Ramdhan are like repenting before Allah.'

The Holy Prophet (saw) was asked, 'Which fast is supreme?' He said, 'The fasts of Shaban for the welcoming of Mahe Ramadhan.'

Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s) says, 'One who observes fast in shaban it would keep him away from every defect and anger.' Abu Hamza says, 'I asked the Imam as to what he meant by that defect.' Imam replied, 'It is the oath of Allah's disobedience.' I asked, 'What is the meaning of that anger?' He replied, 'Taking an oath out of anger and then repenting it.'

The narrator says that a discussion of the fast of the month of shaban was held with Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s). Imam went on narrating the excellence of this fast until he said, 'The fast of shaban would benefit him a lot; even if he has murdered a respected person he would be forgiven."

Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s) narrates that the Holy Prophet (saw) said, 'Shaban in my month and Mahe ramadan is the month of Allah. it is the spring for the poor. The Almighty Allah has made Eid-ul-Azha so that the poor get to eat meat and hence you should perform Qurbani and offer meat to them."

The Testimony of Jabir Ibne Abdullah Ansari (r.a.)

Hazrat Jabir ibne Abdulla Ansari (r.a.) says: If the first step of the lovers of Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) is in the wrong direction due to excess sins the next step is guided aright by (the grace of) their love.

An excellent example of ( Hijab or Parda )

Reward of saying Alhamdulillaahi rabbil a'alameen four times

Declared Aba Abdillah Imam Ja'far ibn Mohammad al-Sadiq (a.s.)

Reward of reciting salutation (Salawaat) on the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.)
1. Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) narrates from his predecessors that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said,

Kind and Helpful to Wives

Admonishing Strict Men
God's Prophet(saw) said:
مَن ضَرَبَ امْرَأةً بِغَيرِ حَقٍّ فأنا خَصْمُهُ يَومَ القِيامَةِ. لا تَضْرِبوا نِسائَكُم، فَمَنْ ضَرَبَها بِغَيرِ حَقٍّ فَقَد عَصى اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ.
On the Resurrection Day I am the enemy of any man who unduly beats his wife. Do not beat your wives. Thus whoever unduly beats his wife has surely rebelled against God and His Prophet.[1]

God's Prophet (saw) said:
لَيسَ مِنّا مَن وُسِعَ عَلَيهِ ثُمَّ قَتَرَ عَلى عِيالِهِ.
"Whoever is affluent but is stingy with his wife does not belong to our nation."[2]

Improving the Spouse's Living Conditions

It has been narrated that Imam Sajj¡d (a.s) said:
أرْضاكُم عِندَ اللهِ أوْسَعُكُم عَلى عِيالِهِ.
"Whoever makes the most improvements in his spouse's living conditions will be the most pleased one near God."[3]

Imam Reza (a.s) said:
يَنْبَغي لِلرَّجُلِ  أنْ يُوسِعَ عَلى عِيالِهِ لِئَلاّ يَتَمَنَّوا مَوتَهُ.
"It is best for a man to make so many improvements in the living conditions of his wife that she never wishes him to die."[4]
So far we discussed how men should be kind to their wives, not bother or hurt them; not be strict with them, but help them. Inshallah we will see in the next communication about what Islam instructs women to do to counter men's services, and what role women should play in life.

Helping the Wives

From Risalatul huquq:

19. As for the right of your subject through mar-riage [i.e., your wife] is that you should know that God has made her for you a tranquility and comfort [in worry] and a friend and shield [against sins]. And, likewise, it is incumbent upon either of you to thank God for his/her spouse, and to know that the other is a favour of God upon you.
And it is obligatory to have good fellowship with this favour of God [i.e., your wife] , and to respect her and be kind to her although your [i.e., the husband's] rights upon her are greater and her obedience to you is more binding in all your likes and dislikes so long as it is not a sin. So she has the right of love and fellowship, and a place of repose [i.e., a house] so that natural desires may be fulfilled, and this in itself is a great [duty]. And there is no power, save in God.

The Rewards of Helping the Wives

God's Prophet (saw) told Imam Ali (a.s):
"O' father of Hasan! Listen to me. I will not tell you anything but what my Lord has ordered me to. God will establish the reward of as many years of fasting in the daytime and staying up at night to pray, as there are hairs on ones body for helping his wife with the housework. The reward will be similar to what He has granted to the patient ones, the Prophet David (MGB), Jacob (MGB) and Jesus (MGB)." [1]
Surely, this reward will encourage believing men to help their wives, and abstain from being forceful and bossy.
God's Prophet (saw) said:
"O' Ali! God will record in the book of the martyrs the name of whoever serves his wife at home, and does not feel bad about it. God will establish the reward of one thousand martyrs for each day and night, and will grant him the reward of the pilgrimage to the Holy House of God for every step he takes in this regard. God will reward him with a city in Heaven that is as extensive as all the veins in his body are." [2]
God's Prophet (saw) said:
يا عَلِيُّ! خِدمَةُ العِيالِ كَفّارَةٌ لِلكَبائِرِ وَتُطْفِيءُ غَضَبَ الرَّبِّ وَمُهورُ الحُورِ العِينِ وَتَزيدُ في الحَسَناتِ والدَّرَجاتِ.
"O Ali! Serving the wife is considered to be expiation for major sins. It will quench the Lord's wrath, and be considered as the nuptial gift for the 'Houris'. It will be a cause of raised ranks, and increased, recorded good-deeds" [3]

Reward of reciting salutation (Salawaat) on Muhammad (s.a.w.s.) and his progeny

Imam Ja'far Sadiq (a.s.) says that he has read in a heavenly, scripture,

"Allah will write a thousand rewards for one who, sends salutations on Muhammad (s.a.w.s.) and his progeny. For, one who recites Allaahumma s'alli a'laa muh'ammadinw wa, ahli baitih Allah will write a thousand rewards."

Reward of reciting salutation (Salawaat) on, Muhammad (s.a.w.s.) a hundred times on Friday

Imam Reza (a.s.) narrates that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.), said,

"One who recites salutation on me a hundred times on, Friday, the Almighty Allah will fulfill his thirty desires of this, world and the hereafter each."

O Allah Hide my Sins ..!

It was narrated that in the days that Prophet Musa (as) wandered with Bani Israeel in the desert, an intense drought befell them. Together, they raised their hands towards the heavens praying for the blessed rain to come. Then, to the astonishment of Prophet Musa (as) and all those watching, the few scattered clouds that were in the sky vanished, the heat poured down, and the drought intensified.

It was revealed to Prophet Musa that there was a sinner amongst the tribe of Bani Israeel who had disobeyed Allah (swt) for more than forty years of his life.
“Let him separate himself from the congregation,” Allah (swt) told Musa (as). “Only then shall I shower you all with rain.”

Nabi Musa (as) then called out to the throngs of humanity, “There is a person amongst us who has disobeyed Allah for forty years. Let him separate himself from the congregation and only then shall we be rescued from the drought.”

That man waited, looking left and right, hoping that someone else would step forward, but no one did. Sweat poured forth from his brow and he knew that he was the one. The man knew that if he stayed amongst the congregation all would die of thirst and that if he stepped forward he would be humiliated for all eternity.

He raised his hands with a sincerity he had never known before, with humility he had never tasted, and as tears poured down on both cheeks he said, “O Allah, have mercy on me! O Allah, hide my sins! O Allah, forgive me!”

As Nabi Musa (as) and the people of Bani Israeel waited for the sinner to step forward, the clouds hugged the sky and the rain poured. Musa (as) asked Allah (swt), “O Allah, you blessed us with rain even though the sinner did not come forward.”

And Allah (swt) replied, “O Musa, it is for the repentance of that very person that I blessed all of Bani Israeel with water.”

Prophet Musa (as), wanting to know who this blessed man was, asked, “Show him to me O Allah!”

Allah (swt) replied, “O Musa, I hid his sins for forty years, do you think that after his repentance I shall expose him?”
“O God, cause me to fear You as if I were seeing You; give me felicity through piety toward You; make me not wretched by disobedience toward You; choose the best for me by Your decree and bless me by Your determination, that I may love not the hastening of what You have delayed, nor the delaying of what You have hastened.  O God, appoint for me sufficiency in my soul, certainty in my heart, sincerity in my action, light in my eyes, and insight in my religion.” (From Dua of Arafaat by Imam Hussein (as)

Reward of reciting Takbeer, Tasbeeh, Tahmeed and Tahleel a hundred times

Imam Ja'far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates from his predecessors that Amirul Momineen (a.s.) said,

"Some people gathered around the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.) and asked,
'O Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.)! Rich people have wealth through which they can free slaves but what about the poor ones like us? They have money to go for Hajj but we can't go. They have enough money for giving Sadaqah but we do not have any. They have enough wealth to buy weapons and participate in Jihad but we do not have anything.'

The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, 'The reward of reciting takbeer (Allaahu Akbar) a hundred times is better than the reward of freeing a slave. The reward of reciting Tasbeeh (Sub-haanallaah) a hundred times is better than taking a hundred camels for Hajj. The reward of reciting Tahmeed (Alh'amdulillaah) is better than taking more than a hundred  horses with saddles and straps laden with weapons of war for Jihad. And the reward of a person who recites Laa ilaaha illallaah a hundred times is better than everyone except one who recites it more than a hundred times'."

Amirul Momineen (a.s.) says, "When rich people came to know about this tradition, they too started performing these deeds. The poor people again came to
the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) and said that even rich people have come to know about this and they too are offering them.

The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) replied, 'That is Allah's grace; He grants it to whom He pleases, and Allah is the Lord of mighty grace'."

The Cobbler's Hajj

It is related that a noted Muslim scholar Abdullah bin Mubarak, had a dream while he was sleeping near the Kaaba.

Abdullah bin Mubarak saw two angels' descend from the sky, and start talking to each other.

One of the angels asked the other: "Do you know how many people have come for Hajj this year?"

The other angel replied: "Six hundred thousand have come for Hajj."

Abdullah bin Mubarak had also gone for Hajj that year.

The first angel asked: "How many people's Hajj has been accepted?"

The second replied: "I wonder if anyone's Hajj has been accepted at all."

Abdullah bin Mubarak was grieved to hear that. He thought, "So many people have come from all over the world, crossing so many obstacles like rivers, jungles, mountains, suffered so many hardships, and meeting so many expenses. Would their effort be wasted? Allah does not let anyone's effort go to waste".

He had thought only so far when he heard the other angel speak: "There is a cobbler in Damascus. His name is Ali bin al-Mufiq. He could not come for Hajj, but Allah has accepted his intention of Hajj. Not only will he get the reward for Hajj, but because of him, all the Hajjis will be rewarded.

When Abdullah bin Mubarak woke up, he decided he would go to Damascus and meet that cobbler whose Hajj intentions carried such a lot of weight.

On reaching Damascus, Abdullah bin Mubarak inquired if anyone knew a cobbler named Ali bin al-Mufiq. The town people directed him to a house. When a man appeared from the house Abdullah bin Mubarak greeted him and asked his name. The man replied "Ali bin al-Mufiq".

Abdullah bin Mubarak asked: "What do you do for a living?"

Ali replied: "I am a cobbler". Then Ali asked the stranger's name that had come looking for him.

Abdullah bin Mubarak was a very well-known scholar of Islam, when Abdullah bin Mubarak introduced him self, the cobbler was anxious to find out why such a well known scholar was seeking him out.

When Abdullah bin Mubarak asked Ali to tell him if he had made any plans to go for Hajj. Ali replied "For thirty years I have lived in the hope of performing the Hajj. This year I had saved enough to go for Hajj, but Allah did not will it, so I couldn't make my intention translate into action.

Abdullah bin Mubarak was eager to find out how could this man's Hajj be accepted and blessed for all the people who went for Hajj that year when he didn't go for Hajj in the first place. While talking to the cobbler he could feel a certain purity in his heart. Islam regards greatness not in wealth or in power, but in civility, in good manners and the goodness of heart.

Abdullah bin Mubarak further asked: "why could you not go on Hajj?". In order not to disclose the reason, Ali again replied "it was Allah's will".

When Abdullah bin Mubarak persisted, Ali revealed: "Once I went to see my neighbor's house. His family was just sitting down for dinner. Although I was not hungry I thought my neighbor would invite me to sit down for dinner out of courtesy but I could see that my neighbor was grieved about something and wanted to avoid inviting me for dinner.

After some hesitation the neighbor told me: "I am sorry I cannot invite you for food. We were without food for three days and I could not bear to see the pain of hunger of my children. I went out looking for food today and found a dead donkey. In my desperation I cut out some meat from the dead animal, and brought it home so that my wife could cook this meat. It is halal (lawful or permitted) for us because of our extreme condition of hunger, but I cannot offer it to you."

Ali continued: "On hearing this, my heart bled with tears. I got up and went home, collected the three thousand dinars I had saved for Hajj, and gave my neighbor the money. I too had to go hungry but that was to save money for Hajj, but I thought helping my neighbor during his difficult times was more important. Although I still desire to go for Hajj if Allah wills."

Abdullah bin Mubarak was greatly inspired by the cobbler's story and told the cobbler of his dream.

God is merciful and shows mercy to those who do likewise to his creatures. This act of compassion on the part of the cobbler was so pleasing to God that it not only earned him the reward of Hajj but was extended to all the people who came for Hajj.

Hajj is a journey that can ignite the soul to be reminded of the time it was created and takes it beyond the dimensions of this life to the time it will meet the creator.

The sincere performance of Hajj can transcend a person's day to day life into a spiritual awakening of the highest magnitude. A successful Hajj experience connects us to our creator and the greater compassion of humanity.

The Pilgrimage to Makkah, is one of the essential elements of the Islamic faith. It is obligatory on all believers provided they have the financial capability and physical ability to endure the challenges of the pilgrimage.

Sohail bin Saad Ansari says, "I asked the meaning of this verse Wa maa kunta bijaanibit' t'oori idh naadainaa from the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.)."
The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) replied,

"Two thousand years before the creation of man, the Almighty Allah wrote this verse on a dry leaf and hung it in the heaven and then gave a call,
'O Ummah of Muhammad! My mercy precedes My anger. I grant you before you ask. I forgive you before you repent. If one of you meets Me and bears witness that there is no Lord except Me and that Muhammad is My servant and messenger I will make him enter Paradise through My mercy'."

Reward of offering Prayer in Masjid-e-Kufa

1. Abu Baseer says that he heard Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) saying,
“Masjid-e-Kufa is a real mosque for one thousand prophets and one thousand Wasis have offered Salaat in this mosque. During the time of Nuh (a.s.), water started coming out from this place and his Ark was built over here only. Its right side possesses the pleasure of Allah. Its middle has a garden of Paradise and its left has Makr.” He asked, “What do you mean by Makr?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “It implies the buildings of Shaitaan.”

2. Muhammad bin Sinaan says that he heard Imam Reza (a.s.) say,
“The reward of offering a prayer in Masjid-e-Kufa alone is better than the reward of offering seventy prayers in congregation in other mosques.”

3. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) says,
“A single prayer of Masjid-e-Kufa is equal to one thousand prayers of other mosques.”

The Benefits of Praying for Imam-e-Asr (a.t.f.s.)

Praying for Imam-e-Zamaan (a.t.f.s.) comprises of advantages for both this world as well as the hereafter. Here, we shall mention a few of them, albeit briefly.

A. Worldly Benefits in Praying for Imam-e-Zamaan (a.t.f.s.) are as follows:

1)      Leads to longevity as it (supplication) is a form of maintaining relations with Allah’s Messenger (s.a.w.a.), for Imam-e-Baqer (a.s.) says,
“Maintaining (or patching) relations purifies actions, multiplies wealth, dispels calamities, simplifies accounting and postpones death.”[1]
2)      Repels difficulties and increases sustenance.
3)      Leads to the acceptance of other invocations.
4)      Is a cause for readying oneself for Imam’s (a.s.) meeting, whether in sleep or awakening.
5)      Leads to augmentation of bounties.
6)      Guarantees divine help for the one who prays and domination over his enemies. The evidence for this belief is the saying of Allah the Almighty,
“If you help (the cause of) Allah, He will help you.”[2]
7)      Returning to this world at the time of his reappearance as we observe during the recitation of Dua-e-Ahd.
8)      Ensures steadfastness on faith and safety from the mischief and destruction of the last era.
9)      Keeps away divine punishment and chastisement.
10)    Preparation and continuous asking of the believers for the reappearance of our master Imam-e-Zamaan (a.t.f.s.) from Allah the All.Powerful, the Obliger, is definitely a cause for the nearness of his reappearance and the quickness of his advent, as has come down in traditions.

B. Benefits in the Hereafter:

Allama Sayed Muhammad Taqi al-Isfahaani (a.r.) in the fifth chapter of his book, ‘Mikyaal al-Makaarim’, has discussed ten advantages for praying for Imam-e-Asr (a.s.). Here, we shall discuss a few of them, while keeping brevity in consideration:
(1)     Success in achieving the intercession of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and his holy progeny (a.s.) on the day of judgement, and this is due to invoking the early reappearance of his son, Hazrat Mahdi (a.t.f.s.).
(2)     The intercession of Hazrat Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) himself on the day of judgement.

If you want Imam Mahdi (as) to visit you…!

A man of knowledge was longing to meet with Hazrat Baqiyyat Allah Imam Mahdi (aj), and he suffered agonies due to not being granted the chance and for a long time he underwent severe austerity and pursued spiritual seeking.
It is well-known among the tullab (Islamic seminary students) of Hawza in Najaf Ashraf and the scholars of the holy shrine of Imam Ali (a) that every one who finds the honor to go the Masjid Sahla to perform the evening and night prayers every Tuesday uninterruptedly for forty nights, they will be graced with meeting the Imam al-'Asr (aj).

For a while, he struggled to this end but to no effect. Then he resorted to the occult sciences and numerical symbolism and started self-discipline and other ascetic and rigorous practices in seclusion, anxiously seeking to meet the Hidden Imam (aj) but all in vain. However, as a consequence of his nightly vigilance and lamenting and wailing at dawns, he had developed some kind of insight and intuition, and occasionally some illuminating flash would be graced on him. He would fall in ecstasy and rapture, often having certain visions and hearing some subtleties.
In one of these mystical states, he was told: 'Your seeing and being granted an audience with Imam al-'Asr (aj) will not be possible, unless you make a trip to such and such a city”. Quite difficult as it sounded at first, but for that sacred purpose, it appeared to be so convenient.
After several days the above-mentioned man arrived in that city and yet even there he carried on his self-discipline and ascetic practices in seclusion that intended to last forty days long. On the thirty seventh day, he was told: 'Right now Hazrat Baqiyyat Allah, Imam al-'Asr (aj) is in the blacksmiths' bazaar, in a shop belonging to an old locksmith; so, be quick to go now and seek his audience”.
He stood up and, as he had already seen in his ecstatic vision, rushed the way down to the old man's shop where he saw the Holy Imam (aj) sitting there and talking amiably with the locksmith. When he greeted, the Holy Imam responded and beckoned him to keep silent, and asked him to watch what happens next in the shop.
At this moment I saw a bent, fragile, old woman with a walking stick who showed us a lock with her shaking hand and said: 'Will you, for God's sake, buy this lock from me for 'three shahis'?. I need three shahis.”
The old locksmith took a look at the lock and found it intact, and then said: 'My sister! This lock costs 'Two abbasis' because it’s key will cost no more than 'ten dinars'; so if you give me ten dinars, I will make a key to this lock and then its value will be ten shahis and not three.'
The old woman answered: 'No, I do not need that, I only need the money; if you buy this lock from me for three shahis, I will pray for you.'
The old man said with utmost naivety: 'My sister! You are a Muslim, and I too claim to be a Muslim. So why should I buy a Muslim's property for a low price and deny someone's right? The value of this lock is already eight shahis;  if I want to benefit from it, I'll buy it for seven shahis, for it is unfair to make more that a shahi profit in a deal of only two abbasis. If you are sure you want to sell it, I'll buy it for seven shahis and not three, and I repeat again that the real price is two abbasis. Since I am a businessman I buy it for one shahi less.
The old woman perhaps would not believe what the man said. She was upset and complained that nobody had been willing to buy that price. She said she begged them to buy it for three shahis but no one agreed and here there is someone who is prepared to pay seven shahis.   The old man paid seven shahis to the old woman and purchased it from her, though he could have got that lock for three shahis.
When the woman turned back to leave, the Imam (aj) said to me:
'My Dear! Did you watch the wonderful scene? You do likewise, become honest and truthful like that locksmith and then…….then I will come to see you.  You won’t have to find me.
“There is no need for ascetic seclusion and resorting to Jafr (numerical symbolism). Self-discipline and various travels will not be required; instead show good sincere action and be a proper, honest Muslim so that I can interact with you.
“Of all people of this city, I picked out this old man, since this man is religious and knows God. And you observed the trial he went through: This old woman requested all in the bazaar, to fulfill her need and since they found her desperate and needy, they were all seeking to buy (her lock) cheap than the actual worth of it.  Nobody bought it even for three shahis. This old man, however, bought it for its real price, real worth, i.e. seven shahis.  Thus, every week I pay a visit to him and show kindness and amiability to him.'
This is how equity in transactions is effective in self-building, and attaining God's favor.  You create equity in your transactions and Imam (A.S.) of the time will come and visit you personally.
Equity in all tasks, especially in transactions is an important issue that has been highly stressed in Islam. Imam Ali (a) said:
'Equity is the best of virtues.'
And he further said:
'The greatest reward is one granted for equity:'

Reward of offering prayer in Masjidul Haraam, Masjidun Nabawi and between Masjidul Haraam and Masjidun Nabawi

Imam Reza (a.s.) narrates from his predecessors that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said,
“The reward of a Salaat offered in Masjidul Haraam is more than the reward of a hundred thousand prayers offered in some other mosque.”

Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates from his ancestors that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said,
“The reward of offering a Prayer in Masjidun Nabawi is equal to the reward of ten thousand Prayers offered in any other mosque except the Prayer offered in Masjidul Haraam whose reward is equal to the reward of a hundred thousand Prayers offered in another mosque.”

Hasan bin Ali Washshaa says that he asked Imam Reza (a.s.), “Is the reward of offering Prayer in Masjidun Nabawi and Masjidul Haraam equal? He replied,
“Yes, and the prayers recited between them is equal to 2000 prayers recited elsewhere.”

SHA’BAAN - The great spiritual blessing

The Holy Prophet said Sha’baan is my month”.
Imam Ali bin Husayn Al Zaynul Aabideen (A.S.) told his companions: “The Holy Prophet (Saww) used to observe fast during the whole month of Sha’baan. Therefore whosoever, in love of the Holy Prophet (S.A.), wishes to seek nearness to Allah and receive bounties, favours and rewards in this world and in the Hereafter, must connect Sha'baan with Ramadhan (in the matter of fasting and special prayers).

1) It is highly desirable to observe fast on 1st, 2nd and 3rd of Sha’baan, &  Pray a 2 Rak-a’t Namaaz every night
In every Rak-a’t, after the recitation of Soorah Al Faatih’ah, recite Soorah Al Ikhlaas 11 times..

2) Give Alms/Charity  in HIS name “What are the best deeds that should be done in Sha`ban.” The Imam (a.s) answered, “Alms giving and seeking forgiveness are the best deeds in Sha`ban. Verily, if anyone of you gives alms in Sha`ban, Almighty Allah will breed that alms in the very same way as you breed your small camels. Hence, this alms will be as huge as Mount Uhud on the Resurrection Day.” (use www.Eternal-Investment.org )
3) Recite 70 times daily:
ASTAGHFIRULLAAHALLAD’EE LAA ILAAHA ILLA HUWAR RAHMANO RAH’EEMUL H’AYYUL QAYYOOMU WA ATOOBU ILAYHI
According to narrations, the best supplications and invocations that are advisably recited in Sha`baan are the prayers of seeking forgiveness of Almighty Allah (swt) (i.e. istighfar). Hence, to seek Almighty Allah’s (swt) forgiveness seventy times a day in Sha`baan is equal to seeking His forgiveness seventy Thousand times a day in the other months
4) Recite the following 1000 times, whenever the count reaches 1000, at any time within the month, the a’mal is complete:
LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAAHU  WA LAA NAA’-BUDU ILLAA IYYAAHU MUKHLIS’EENA LAHUD DEEN WA LAW KARIHAL MUSHRIKOON
5) On every Thursday Fasting is recommended & Recite 2 Rak-a’t Namaaz. In every Rak-a’t, after the recitation of Soorah Al Fatih’a, recite Soorah Al Ikhlaas 100 times. After the Salaam recite Salawaat 100 times  اللّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ In this respect, a Hadith reads that the heavens decorate themselves each Thursday in Sha`ban and the angels pray Almighty Allah, saying, “O our God: (please do) forgive him who observes fasting on this day and respond to his prayers.”

The Holy Prophet (saww) is also reported as saying, “If one observe fasting each Monday and Thursday in Sha`baan, Almighty Allah will settle forty of his needs— twenty appertained to the worldly life and twenty to the Hereafter.”

6)
Recite the Special Salawaat taught by Imam Ali bin Husayn Al Zaynul Aabideen (A.S.)

7) Recite
Munajat e Shabaniyah with presence of heart.

Miracle of Holy Quran ---- Dead body of Pharaoh

In this world We made a curse to follow them: and on the Day of Judgment they will be among the loathed (and despised).'
(Quran 28: 36-42)

فـــــــــرعـون

This is the closest picture taken of Pharaoh
Ramesses II

Here's the story of France with Pharaoh Ramesses

When Francisco Mitra became the president of France in 1981

France requested from the Egyptian government to host the mummy of Pharaoh

For the purpose of running laboratory and archeological examinations on the mummy of the most notorious dictator ever lived on earth

Upon arrival, a very royal attendants were there including the French president himself and all ministers who bowed in honor for the mummy

When the ceremony ended, the mummy was carried to a specially-designed section at the Archeology Centre of France

Were it started to be tested by the greatest French archeological and anatomical scientists in order to discover more about such a great mummy

The scientists were headed by Professor Maurice Bucaille

Scientists were trying to restore the mummy while Professor Maurice was mainly concerned with how did this mummy die!

The final report of the scientists was released late at night which states that the remaining salt in the mummy is an overt evidence that it was drawn in the sea, and the body was rescued very shortly where it was immediately embalmed to be saved

An amazing thing was still confusing Professor Maurice is that how could this body possibly be safer than any other mummy despite being taken out of the sea up until this time

Professor Maurice was writing his final report on what he thought would be a new discovery about saving Pharaoh's body immediately after his death and embalming it

And there, someone whispered to him that Muslims claim to know something about the drowning of this mummy

Yet the Professor firmly denied such thing saying that it's impossible to discover this without the development of science and without using his high-tech and complicated laboratories   and computers

To his surprise, he was told that Muslims believe in a book called 'Quran' and this Quran narrates the story of Pharaoh's drowning and ensures the safety of his body after his death as to be a Sign to mankind. The Professor couldn't believe his own ears and started to wonder:

How can a book existed 1400 years ago speak about the mummy that was only found 200 years ago, in 1898??!!

How can that be possible while the ancient Egyptian heritage was discovered only a few decades ago and no one knew about it before??!!

The Professor sat down pondering on what he was told about the book of Muslims while his Holy Book narrates only the drowning of Pharaoh without saying anything about his body

'Is it possible that this mummy in front of me is the one who was chasing Moses??!!'

'Is it possible that Muhammad knew this 1400 years ago??!!'

The Professor couldn't sleep that night till they brought him the Old Testament where he read: 'the sea drowned Pharaoh and his army, no one else was left alive' He was surprised that the Holy Book didn't mention about the destiny of the body and that it will be saved

When the scientists were done with the mummy, France retuned it to Egypt, but Professor Maurice couldn't rest for a moment since he was told that Muslims know about the safety of the body. So, he decided to travel and meet anatomy Muslim scientists and there he spoke about his discovery of the safety of the mummy after its death in the sea and so on.

One of the Muslim scientists stood up and simply opened the Quran and pointed to the Professor at one verse:

'This day shall We save you in your body, that you may be a Sign to those who come after you! But verily, many among mankind are neglectful of Our Signs'
(Quran 10:92)

The Professor was struck when he read that and immediately stood in front of the crowd and said loudly: 'I believe in Islam, I believe in Quran'

Then he went back to France with a different face he traveled with.

In France, he dedicated 10 years investigating the scientific discoveries and comparing them with the Quran and trying to come up with one scientific contradiction with the Quran. Finally he quoted one verse from the Quran to be his conclusion:

'No falsehood can approach it (this book) from before or behind it: it is sent down by One Full of Wisdom, Worthy of all praise'
(Quran 41:42)

As a result of all years of his research, Professor Maurice wrote a book that shook all Europe, especially the scientists there

'Quran, Torah, Bible and Science:
A Study of the Holy Books in the Light of Modern Science'

All copies were sold out at a very short time

I personally visited the Cairo Museum where the mummy is preserved and there you get astonished at the scenery of thousands of people from all over the world visiting the place everyday , unfortunately, many of the tourists there would think: 'Woow, look at that! Amazing!! So nice to see people of all times!! Without realizing the intended lesson that Allah has kept this body a Sign to all mankind of anyone who denies Allah and His messengers.

In another chapter in the Quran:

'When Moses came to them with Our clear Signs, they said: This is nothing but sorcery faked up: never did we hear the like among our fathers of old!

Moses said: 'My Lord knows best who it is that comes with guidance from Him and whose end will be best in the Hereafter: certain it is that the wrong-doers will not prosper.

'Pharaoh said: 'O Chiefs! No god do I know for you but myself: therefore, O Haman! Light me a (kiln to bake bricks) out of clay, and build me a lofty palace, that I may mount up to the god of Moses: but as far as I am concerned, I think (Moses) is a lair!'

And he was arrogant and insolent in the land, beyond reason, - he and his hosts: they thought they would not have to return to Us!

So We seized his and his hosts, and We flung them into the sea: now behold what was the end of those who did wrong!

And We made them (but) leaders inviting to the Fire; and on the Day of Judgment no help shall they find.

In this world We made a curse to follow them: and on the Day of Judgment they will be among the loathed (and despised).'
(Quran 28: 36-42)

So now,

'Has not the time arrived for the Believers that their hearts in all humility should engage in the remembrance of Allah and the Truth which has been revealed to them, and that they should not become like those to whom was given Revelation aforetime, but long ages passed over them and their hearts grew hard? For many among them are rebellious transgressors.

Know you (all) that Allah gives life to the earth after its death! Already have We shown the Signs plainly to you, that you may learn wisdom.

For those who give in charity, men and women, and loan to Allah a Beatiful Loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credits), and they shall have (besides) a liberal reward.

And those who believe in Allah and His messengers- they are the Sincere (lovers of Truth), and the Witnesses (who testify), in the eyes of their Lord: they shall have their Reward and their Light.

But those who reject Allah and deny Our Signs,- they are the companions of Hell-Fire '
Quran 57: 16-19
